The ladies of Headford are having a ball,
When they meet every Friday at the local town hall.
They play games and they dance, ’til they’re ready to drop,
Before they decide it is time to stop.
They have rings and skittles, which they play so well,
And who plays the best, it is hard to tell.
They all love the rings and they think they are great,
While all take a turn at twisting the plate.
The jams are passed round with the scones and brown bread,
Everyone stands up when the Grace is said.
When the tea is over and they are all sitting down,
Everyone shouts "Bingo" and the cards they come down.
They’re all as quiet as a mouse, until someone shouts out
I’ve got a full house.
The winner is happy when the prize comes along,
Now there is just time for a little singsong.
I almost forgot to mention the tour we’ve just had,
There is a summer break now, and they’re all feeling sad.
