Headfest 2012


Headfest will take place on the weekend of August 3rd, 2012. Events will include Sporting competitions, Art & Photographic Exhibitions, Music Events and much more.

The festival was made possible by the support and sponsorship ofthe local community. Our thanks to our sponsors, the Gardaí and all the local clubs and societies who are participating.

We urge you to support the festival and with your support the festival will be a success.

 

SPORTS EVENTS

Moyne Villa Soccer Blitz

Sat Aug 4th / 1-4pm / Moyne Villa Pitch

Moyne Villa Soccer Club is celebrating its 35th Anniversary this year. We are marking the event to coincide with the opening of our new playground, walkway and the revamped pitches and lighting on the 25th August. John Delaney from the FAI will attend along with other dignitaries.

We will host an underage blitz on the Sat 4th August, 8,U10,U12,13; from 1-4pm and congratulate the Headford Fest committee on their hard work.

First round matches Sat Aug 4th @ 6pm / Semi-Final Sat @ 8.30pm / Final Sun Aug 5th @ 2pm / Headford GAA Pitch

Teams: Headford, Caherlistrane, Shrule/Glencorrib, Clonbur, Annaghdown, The Neale

Headford GAA Club caters for all age groups from Under 6 / 8 / 10 / 12 / 14 / 16 / 18 / 21, Junior C and Junior A Teams.

Calling all movers and groovers, join us to strut your stuff at the Headfest family disco. Mammies and Daddies, boys and girls all welcome. Come and bust some moves at a hiphop dance workshop before the disco. Suitable for families with children up to age 12, children must be accompainted by adults.

ARTS EVENTS

Photo & Arts Exhibition

Pop up Gallery @ Monaghan’s / Fri Aug 3rd / 6pm

Official opening of the Festival on the Friday at 6pm by Queen of the Festival in Monaghan’s showroom with music and finger food. Exhibition continues Saturday from 11am - 5pm and Sunday from 12-4pm. The photographic exhibition captures places, items and buildings of interest from Headford and the county as seen through the lens by local photographers. Past and present local students of Jim Kavanagh’s Art School (Stiúideo na Coiríbe) are exhibiting their work over the weekend alongside other local artists. St Fursa’s Historical Society

Anglers Rest Hotel / Fri Aug 3rd / 9pm

Slide show presentation on the natural and built landscapes of Headford and its environs. A talk will be given by a guest historian. All welcome.

Arts & Crafts Exhibition

St Fursa’s Hall / Sat 4th August / 11am–5pm

In excess of 30 acclaimed crafts people demonstrating a wide range of indigenous and international skills, from jewellery designs, wood carvings, centre pieces and quilt making, to home fashions, speciality cooking, garment designing and much more.
