Ancient Brewing in Headford

Billy Quinn and Declan Moore re-created the ancient brewing technique in Headford this Summer using a "fulacht fiadhs" or cooking spot. They are small, horseshoe shaped grass covered mounds, and have traditionally been thought of as ancient cooking spots. However, the Galway duo claim that they could also have been used as breweries, showing that beer was available in Ireland as far back as 2,500 BC. The book will be launched by David Burke, Editor of the Tuam Herald, at a reception in Campbell's Tavern, Cloughanover on Friday 22nd June 2007 at 8.30 p.m. All are welcome.

Presentation College Monster Draw.

The Parents Council, Students and Teachers of Presentation College Headford wish to thank most sincerely all those who contributed in any way to the huge success of our recent Fund raising draw. At the outset we set ourselves a mammoth task of raising €20,000 in three weeks but thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, our parents, neighbours and friends who purchased tickets and who turned up on the night of the draw for the concert the final figure raised came to just under €25,000. We are so pleased to be able to tell you that the school is now in a position to purchase and install a computer in every one of the 40 classrooms in the school.

Thank You again for your unfaltering support for our college.
